Rejuvenating The Under Eye Area
The eye area can be a difficult area to treat - it’s delicate, it’s prone to swelling and many of us aren’t suitable for filler in this area. This is why consultation is key when it comes to injectable treatments! In this blog post we will be discussing a few treatment options that can be used to rejuvenate the delicate under eye area...

Filler
Tear trough fillers are a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment. It involves numbing the tear trough area with a topical anaesthetic and then injecting the area with hyaluronic acid gel, which works to boost collagen production and replace the lost volume brought about through the ageing process.
However, not everyone is suitable for filler under the eyes due to the delicate nature of the skin in this area. While carefully-placed fillers can replace lost volume and hollowing and a more instant result, they do not improve the skin health which is often the main cause of concerns in the eye area.
Fillers also come with a higher risk in this area, but the good news is that if you're not a suitable candidate for filler, we offer a few other incredible options for treating around the eyes, and in some cases can replace the need for any filler.
Polynucleotides
Polynucleotides are an injectable bio-stimulator - the stretchy molecules are made from fragments of fish which mirror human DNA. The purpose of injecting the product is to stimulate our own cells to produce some of the things that we lose with ageing.
Traditional treatments for dark circles under the eyes, such as dermal fillers, tend to focus on filling in lost volume or targeting specific wrinkles and fine lines. However, this isn’t always effective. Not everyone with dark circles will have lost volume under the eye, so fillers aren’t usually the right answer in this case. What’s more, fillers tend to be a temporary solution to a cosmetic problem and do not fundamentally improve the skin’s structure and health.
This is where the magic of polynucleotides shines - under the eyes! Their ability to regenerate tissues and stimulate natural healing processes and better skin cell functioning offers a more holistic, natural and long-term approach to under-eye rejuvenation. When targeting under the eyes, polynucleotides work to increase hydration, enhance elasticity, and improve skin tone, leading to visible anti-ageing results and healthier, fresher looking skin.
Exosomes
Exosomes are minute vesicles containing growth factors, proteins and other key molecules that facilitate tissue regeneration and cell communication. Exosomes are produced naturally in the body, however they can also be isolated and utilised as part of various treatments to support rejuvenation and healing.
Microneedling devices create minute channels within the skin and can be used to allow exosomes to penetrate deeply into a specific treatment area. Exosomes can also be applied topically without the microneedling element and clinical trials have shown that this is also an effective method. Once applied, exosomes get to work promoting the production of elastin and collagen within the skin, both of which can help to maintain a refreshed and youthful looking appearance.
The growth factors present within exosomes also have the ability to trigger the production of new skin cells, which can help to improve the tone and texture of the skin. Exosome therapy can be used on a range of treatment areas and concerns, including minimising the appearance of fine lines around the delicate eye area, firming areas of skin laxity, and providing a more even looking complexion.
